Mike had to resist jumping across the table and hugging Chen – instead he offered a weak ‘are you sure you don’t mind?’ Chen just smiled, and said ‘c’mon – I’ll get the tab, I invited you – next time, you buy – let’s get home!’ Somehow, Mike thought the phrase ‘let’s get home’ had some interesting undertones.
